U.S. September 6th: stocks were mixed after the close , with the Dow Jones Industrial Average going up 0.25% to 18,538.12, while the S&P 500 index going up 0.30% to 2,186.48 and the NASDAQ Composite index is up 0.34% to close at 7,970.2.
Dow Jones Industrial Average
- The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Boeing 1.37% to trade at 132.96, Chevron rose 1.51% to end at 102.45 and Intel was up 1.36% to 36.57 in late trade
- The worst performers of the session were Nike which fall 1.03% to trade at 57.42 at the close. United Technologies. to 0.83% to end at 106.04 and Home Depot was down 0.76 to 134.12
S&P 500
- The top performers on the Spect which rose 13.42% to 41.00, EOG which was up 6.68% to settle at 94.85 and The AES which gained 5.07% to close at 12.85.
- The worst performers were Cummins which was down 7.32% to 116.82 in late trade, Centene lost at 4.84% to settle at 65.30 and Nordstorm which was up 3.59% to 50.01 at the close.
Nasdaq
- The top performers on the NASDAQ were Prism which rose 8.89% to 0.2290, GWG Holdings Inc was up 8.60% to settle at 10.86 and Health Insurance which gained 6.62% to close at 5.960
- The worst performers were Connecture Inc which fall 4.73% to 1.610, eHealth which was down 1.48% to settle at 11.34 and 1347 which gained 1.29% to close at 6.12
Commodities NYMEX
- Gold Futures was up 0.85%, to trade at $1,328.25 a troy ounce.
- The Silver futures for May delivery was up 3.06% to trade at $19.523 an ounce.
- Also on the NYMEX the WTI crude oil for September up 2.46% to hit $44.22 a barrel.
- Natural Gas on the same market for September closed at $2.792 per million British thermal units,to close at 0.00%.
Forex
- EUR/USD was down 0.38% to close at 1.1155, while USD/JPY was up 0.67 to close at 103.91.
- The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% to close at 95.87.
