On Black Friday, shoppers in UK look for online bargains
Strong online demand was reported in United Kingdom, early on "Black Friday".
British retailers declared that shoppers had a joyful mood of spending, and were early trading and buying online on Black Friday.
As British Pound is becoming weaker and the costs of imports are rising more and more, shoppers look for online bargains.
Last year, Black Friday generated record sales, more in online sales, not in store-based ones. Too many clients had bad memories about the throngs, the bad weather and the general noise.
All of this made customers turn more into online shopping, especially in a shopping busy-day like Black Friday. This year is no exception to that, Black Friday shoppers are more focused on online shops.
Last Black Friday, in 2015, Currys PC World, a electrical and telecommunication retailer, had up to 40% of its sales and orders online, reporting over a half a million visitors in the first part of the day.
Argos, retailer of electrical toys had over a half a million website visits between midnight and 1:00 GMT. Argos Ceo, John Rogers, said about Black Friday that "It will be the busiest trading day of the year".
UK's biggest department store group, John Lewis, said that, on Black Friday, its website has five orders per second.
Retailers in United Kingdom hope that the Black Friday sales will offer a good start to Christmas tradings, and have high hopes that are backed-up by a strong October and increased sales on Halloween.
