U.S. October 18th: stocks were mixed after the close , with the Dow Jones Industrial Average going down 0.42% to 18,161.94, while the S&P 500 index going down 0.62% to 2,139.60 and the NASDAQ Composite index is up 0.03% to close at 7,918.5.

The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were McDonald`s 1.06% to trade at 116.43, Merck&Co rose 0.99% to end at 61.94 and General Electric was up 0.85% to 29.68 in late trade
The worst performers of the session were Exxon Mobil which fall 1.53% to trade at 82.55 at the close. DuPont to 0.94% to end at 66.70 and American Express was down 0.56 to 63.70
The top performers on the Royal Caribbean Cru. which rose 4.51% to 68.43, Gilead which was up 3.53% to settle at 81.78 and Southwestern Energy which gained 2.74% to close at 14.24.
The worst performers were United Rentals which was down 4.56% to 75.57 in late trade, Tegna Inc lost at 3.84% to settle at 20.5300 and Chesapeake which was up 3.67% to 6.560 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ were Atlantic American which rose 6.58% to 4.050, Kinsale Capital was up 2.66% to settle at 22.81 and James River Group In which gained 2.54% to close at 38.83
The worst performers were Health Insurance which fall 1.67% to 5.900 , United Insurances which was down 1.64% to settle at 15.020 and Atlas Financials gained 1.54% to close at 17.000 .
Gold Futures was up 0.61%, to trade at $1,326.95 at the ounce.
The Silver futures for May delivery was up 1.38% to trade at $19.543 an ounce.
Also on the NYMEX the WTI crude oil for September down 1.88% to hit $44.88 a barrel.
Natural Gas on the same market for September closed at $3.059 per million British thermal units,to close at 0.49%.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to close at 1.1147, while USD/JPY was down 0.58 to close at 101.09.
